What does this driver do?
This Russound SMZ Series Driver for Elan OS gives the streamer built into a Russound SMZ8 or SMZ16-PRE a full media interface in a Nice Home Management (Elan OS) system: browse the streaming services, see what is playing with cover art, and drive transport.
This driver is in two parts, a zone driver which controls zones, volume, and source switching; and this media driver that owns the media experience for the streamer source. You need both, and both run on the same license key.
Features:
Zone Driver:
- Zone power on and off
- Zone volume, absolute, 0-100 in Elan. The controller works in 0-50 and the driver scales both ways, so a level set at a keypad shows correctly in Elan
- Zone mute on and off
- Source selection, any of the controller’s inputs
- Automatic model detection and zone sizing – there is no model to choose
- Automatic discovery of linked controllers, presenting every zone as one continuous list
- Live feedback for every zone, pushed by the controller as it changes
Media Driver:
- Full library browsing of every service the streamer offers
- Now playing – artist, album, track, and cover art fetched from the service
- Transport – play, pause, stop, next and previous
- Shuffle and repeat state
- Search within a service, using the on-screen keyboard
- Signing in to a streaming service directly from the Elan OS interface
- Intrinsic Platinum Integration – Official Russound driver
- Driver uses Intrinsic(Athena) cloud technology for key free licensing, update alerts and enhanced support

License
All of our software is available to download free of charge but will require licensing to function. Unless specifically noted only one license is required per controller/processor. You can run as many devices as required up to the limit supported by your chosen control platform.
Free Trial
All our drivers, excluding Licensed Partner Integrations (eg myQ), come with a free 14 day trial period. Simply download the driver and install to try all the features, and allow your clients to use the driver before purchase. Dealers can also obtain a free Showroom License without an expiry period for demo and testing purposes.
Easy setup
All of our drivers/modules come with comprehensive Integration Notes to ensure the easiest possible set up of our software. Many also have Installation Tutorial videos to further assist you. Please ensure you refer to these resources each time you install a new driver/module.
